so basically it has come to that time again when geeks start to congregate for the X-INfERNO LAN PARTY!!! that's right folks it is coming (even though an exact time has not been set) it will happen. which means now is the time for us to actually plan what video games we will be playing so that it isn't like all of our past LAN parties where everyone eventually ends up playing their own games by themselves in the corner...boo. that's not going to happen. we are going to vote and choose 4 video games that will be installed and available to all who come. so let the voting begin...

i thought you guys didn't want to play tribes 1 ever agin because of what happened at our last lan party...but if you do that is perfectly fine with me .

Age of Empires 3 (kind of like SC or WC but none of us are good at it or have even played it so it will be an even playing field)

I thought about Icewind Dale from nicks post and it would be cool if we did something crazy like all be the same class or use a trainer to make our guys awesome and try to beat the game really fast or just fight each other in a glorious level 99 battle

If we can get access to it i'd also like to try F.E.A.R. it runs on the Havok 2 engine (Painkiller, Doom 3) and it has superawesome graphics and probably a tight multiplayer. Also has bullettime AKA slow down or freeze time to dodge bullets

I think all LAN parties need tribes, but that's just me. I would suggest finding a variety of games.

1) Shoot 'em up game, counterstrike, tribes, so forth.
2) Strategy game like starcraft or WC3
3) Something that will be extremly funny for about an hour then we'll wanna throw it against a wall.
4) something co-op that we can all play while working together on.

how bout a strategy, FPS, that you can play co-op to and then it gets thrown against the wall because its too funny to play! all game into one! oh yea!

however in a more serious mode i think that sourceforts covers all that area because it allows for co-op, FPS, and a certain type of stratergy that is not found in most death match type games. in source forts you have to use your head and not just get trigger happy to win. try it out online and you will see what i am talking about.

anyhow all you guys need to go out and purchase your own friggin copies of HL2, im not gonna pirate that game because i think it rocks and i think that they should get paid. end of story

on that not the lan party is getting closer. i am starting to put the final effects on my case and it will be fragging time before this year is out. what do you guys say to a new years eve lan party?

problly not. 1) because I want this sticky down sooner than that, 2) there are people who probablly will want to hang out on new years, but wont want to go to a LAN party. lets have a normal new years eve party, have the lan some other time.

its up to you guys and if thats the case then there is not much i can do about it. it is a LAN party and i would like to have as many people as possible. this will probably be one of the, if not the, last one i will be able to attend so i would like to have a good long one.

as far as i know it is still up in the air. you're right megs lan parties are soooo much fin even if you are not a gamer. as far as i am concerned i just want it to be on a weekend (Friday Saturday mix). i really don't do anything on the weekends except sleep so you guys need to decide when is best because you people probably have stuff to do. we might want to try and decide in the next week or so because the later and later we wait the less interest we will have and thats no good. i can slap my new computer together anytime so no worries there. other than that you guys have to decide. i just don't want to pick a weekend when everyone is committed to something else.

for the non-gamers, you should set up the other room with fun games that get non-gamers a chance to have fun too! fun for everyone!yay!
