I'm always down for some Starcraft!! I recommend this site for everything regarding the Starcraft scene: http://www.teamliquid.net

gl hf dd lw ka bf mfbf

One big thing people always talk about is making sure to always spend your money. Say you're playing protoss, and you have 300 minerals, but only 1 gateway. if you're not in the process of teching up, build a zealot, and also another gateway with the extra 150 you have. If you die with 3000 minerals left over, thats like a ton of units you could have to defend your death!

edit: Here's a sweet tip that I just picked up!!

"Cloning: This refers to issuing the same command to many units but with different targets. For example, suppose you're Terran playing against Zerg and you see several Lurkers burrowed. Say you have a group of Science Vessels on the other side of the map and want to irradiate all of them. Select all your Science Vessels, order them to irradiate the first Lurker, deselect one Science Vessel from the group by clicking on its wireframe in the bottom, order them to irradiate another Lurker, deselect,
irradiate, and so on. That way all your Science Vessels will move over at the same time and irradiate di fferent Lurkers.

You can apply this to many different situations. Send scouting units to different parts of the map, fly Scourges at diff erent Science Vessels, target Zealots at diff erent Tanks, and so on.

yeah, im not so good at playing people, i suck in that area. it seems that even with steve's amazing starcraft ability and my "so called" skill things are still a bit uneven.

im saying that i will play a game the way you guys want to but i am also saying i'm not up for getting slaughtered more than once.

I think for sure we should play, and we'll mix up teams as need be. Hopefully by the time December rolls around I won't be as terrible at Starcraft as I am now (I'll also hopefully have SC2 to practice with).

Me and Corey managed to train up our comp stomping skills today, as we overcame a 2v5 victory. FOR ADUN!

Sup Eric!

Haha, I don't care what the teams are but would you guys want to play when I get back? I miss it!

Protip for Jason: instead of sunkens/photon cannons make units. They serve as sort of a mobile defense, and you can use them in an offensive when you're ready. Another tip - keep units near your minerals!

Also as a note if we keep discussing any strategy, everything I post normally implies to teamgames. 3v3 is my normal game play, although I've done 4v4s as available.

I hit Steve up for protips when I started playing and he gave me that very one. He said consider a Dragoon a cannon with legs, which is a great tip although I think some cannons seem like a good idea (strategically placed of course)

I like zerg, I think I do better as Terran and Protess. I've been trying a bunch of different races and I just keep having random problems. As you said keep units near minerals seems like a great tip. 2 big problems I've come across with micromanagement are reaver drops and high templar drops. Especially if you play on a money map the high templar --> Psy Storm strategy is pretty popular in protoss.

My other big problem is my end game strategy, and spending money. I've gotten pretty good at an early game rush, with decent teammates we can rush 1 person down, but my end game falls apart after that.

And thanks for the protips, let's keep 'em going!

Yeah, almost all of the sweet info I've usually gotten applies to 1v1s, it really is a way different game with 3v3s. What I've generally heard is that most higher end 3v3's end with just tier 1-2 units (medic/marines, zealots/dragoons, zergling/hydralisks) because with 3 people you can generally rush one person and create a bunch of chaos. we should make up some sweet 3v3 strats and go play people online!

As far as picking a race goes, I feel your pain! They all have such cool things about them, and when I feel I've finally picked one, I'll play against a race of something else and be like "man, I wanna be able to do that!" In the end I'll probably settle with protoss, but people say to generally pick a race that fits your playstyle.

Terran: Macro Intensive - Teching up and getting units out generally takes more of your attention than the other races. This race is good for people that are good at multitasking and can turn themselves away from watching battles to manage a base (unless you do a non-mech build like medic/marine, then it's a whole different thing!)

Protoss: Micro Intensive - Getting units out with Protoss is way easier than the other races, but using your units can be harder (like jason was saying, high templar storms, reaver drops, arbiter stasis/recall.) This race is for people who can't necessarily multitask that great (like me!) but like to focus on controlling units.

Zerg: Reflex intensive - Jaedong, the best player in the world right now, plays zerg, and when he talks about his playstyle he always mentions about how zerg players always need to be much faster than the other races. Their macro works a lot differently than the other two races but it isn't bad, I would say they learn more towards micro (lurkers!!!! so good but so hard to control) but with zerg you a have a ton of options about what you want to do. This race is for people that like coming up with really weird strategies and solutions for things, and can make decisions quickly!

I know you know the stuff about the races already Jason but it could be good for anyone reading this that wants to play with us!! But yeah let's get a 3v3 team going, if were ever in a game and it looks rough we can just BS each other to make the other team put their guards down, and that's when we'll strike!

Corey, Steve, and I made an awesome 3v3 Starcraft team today. We're working on our leet strategies of rushing your face and pwning everyone!

If the Steve and Patrick Killathon doesn't work out, maybe we'll do St-ore-son takes on the world 3 v Everyone!

I'm not gonna lie, until I thought about it right now I thought the M&M strategy was Marines and Marines. Gotta get more Marines!
