OK, so remember how i was going to put an effects pedal in one of the guitars I was building?

well, it took a hiatus but I have been thinking about it more, and I want to be able to control the wah-wah effects with a touch pad. I have looked on a couple of forums and some pointed out to use an XY Pad. But I want to just have a thin x axis pad wired into the effects board, controlling all wah-wah like effects. Could this be done? is there such a thing as just an x axis pad? could it be made? could it be modified from another pad? how difficult would this all be? please explain
