Movie Poster Design February 3rd, 2009, 12:07 pm
Hey guys! For school I'm making a poster for Ian and Thomas' Excellent Calculus Adventure. I think it's going to be really cool and I think it will be fun if I post every step that I do on this thread. So here it goes. I started with this sketch... So I set off to start photographing the elements. First the trash can... Then I might use this pillar thing for the base of it, so here is the photo. Then to photoshop to cut them out... That's where I'm at right now! I'll post more later!

So it's supposed to be in a heavenly scene, kinda like in Semi-Pro when he goes to heaven to see his mom.... So I was looking for good stock photography but didn't want to pay $20 for one picture of clouds so it's time to comb the internet... Here are some of the pics i will use to make the background.

Looks good so far. I feel like it should have a taste of back to the future in it, such as: http://historyofeconomics.files.wordpre ... uture1.jpgI just think it'd be hilarious to see the trash can look like it's going really fast (Flames, or speed lines, or so forth). But that probably wouldn't be a very serious thing to do. Keep it up buddy!

I took the two pieces and slapped them together, it looks like the perspective is pretty close so this is going to turn out sweet!

Here it is in the clouds, does it look pretty heavenly? Haven't gotten the lighting perfect yet, but it's coming along!

It looks pretty cool, I think it looks a little high in the frame but once you add more things to the side and a title it might fit a little better. Nice work!

Are you planning on retouching the column/stand thing? Just curious.
