Eating July 21st, 2009, 6:25 am
Eating has become something very interesting to me. Eating is such a crucial component to maintaining a healthy lifestyle but I was never did very basic things with regards to eating and cooking. One simple tip which I think helps a lot is how to design meals. I think often I thought of a full meal (especially dinner) as a main course, a side and bread. Bread was super important! However, our meals should be designed around the following simple rule if you think of your plate as 100%, 50% should be veggies, 25% carbs, and 25% protein. That means that if bread is served rice is not the side, in fact bread is fitting into that 25% section! I'm amazed at the amount of meals I eat out which are just meat and starch and how similar these meals are to things I ate growing up. So remember 50/25/25! Keep it up and live healthy!

Nice! I was going to ask you about running but I didn't want to hit a sore subject in case the ankle was still....well....sore. My whole running crew will be out in Riverside in about a month! Woot woot!
