Ok so the internet router here at Thomastopia has been quirky for some time now but more often recently. I tried to upgrade to a custom firmware and this happened:

Oh linksys, how I used to love you...

i would laugh except i am sure that steve is going through withdraw from not having internet.

D-Link or netgear are always solid options unless you can get your hands on some quality hardware like Cisco or Sonicwall.

it might also help you if you moved the router and modem to the shop and away from stray sprinklers and spiders :).

good luck and happy hunting!

another option you could try is putting it into emergency restore mode. as far as how to do that every router is different however i know you can do it on linksys equipment.

basically you use some combination of the reset button, powering on and off or something like that.

then you will need to setup a tftp server and, using the web interface, point the router to a good .bin firmware file and it should be restored.

that might help out if there isn't anything seriously wrong with the router. :D
